Google Brings Search Central Live to Canada for the First Time [Insights]

Google has announced the first-ever Search Central Live event in Canada, taking place in Toronto on April 21, 2026, as part of its ongoing global event series.

The event is not just another developer meetup. It marks a deliberate expansion of Google’s Search Central Live series into Canada, a market that has not previously had direct, in-person access to the Search Relations team.

The Toronto edition runs from 9:00 to 14:00 local time and will feature presentations, live Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Martin Splitt (Search Advocate),
  • Daniel Waisberg (Search Advocate),
  • Danny Sullivan (Director, Google Search), and
  • Annanya Raghavan (Trends Analyst).

Topics on the agenda include crawling and indexing, AI in Search, Search Console updates, ecommerce structured data, and Google Trends, directly reflecting the current shift in how Google Search operates, particularly around AI Overviews.

The event is aimed at website owners, publishers, digital marketers, web developers, SEO professionals, and those working with news organizations. Space is limited and attendance is by application only.

Canada joins a growing list of first-time markets for the series, which has expanded over the past two years to include New York City (March 2025), São Paulo, Recife, Zurich, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, and others.
